Nina Könnemann

Feb 2012 to May 2012
1971 Lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

Nina Könneman creates video-installations in which she researches human phenomenae in our society. In Sommerleute, 2010 she focussed on people collecting empty bottles around Berlin Alexanderplatz, to collect money when bringing them back to the supermarket. For her solo exhibition in Portikus (Free Mumia, Frankfurt am Main, 2009) she departed from partying people in Blackpool, England and the usage of the crazy hat, changing every year, but a local trend among the partypeople of Blackpool. In this project the question arises what people do when they do what they want, without anyone telling them what to do. Nina Könnemann is interested in the different ways people use and reinterpret objects and public space in their everyday lives.
