Pontogor
Pontogor has been invited by OHNO COOPERATION in the framework of OPEN AIR # 5.
In his work he combines different media like video, performance, noise and installation. Through manipulation, mixing and constructing he combines these different elements in a performative event. These elements are a combination of found objects and existing instruments. Failure plays an important role to get to the final result of his experiments. A guitar is combined with televisions, turntables, electronics and are used as sculptural instruments that fulfil both features.
Pontogor (°1981) studied painting at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). In 2007 he won the “Proden Prize” in the International Biennial Siart in La Paz, Bolivia. He was invited for the following solo exhibitions: AÇÃO, Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste, Fortaleza. His work was included in the following group exhibitions (selection): Festival Performance Arte Brasil, MAM, Rio de Janeiro; 29ste Biennial of São Paulo; Latidos Urbanos, National Museum of Contemporary art in Santiago, Chili; the 7th Biennial of Mercosul; Zoation Painting, National Art Museum, La Paz, Bolivië.
