Excavating Contemporary Archaeology

Excavating Contemporary Archaeology is a European Cooperation Project, where contemporary artists are invited to explore our rich and diverse European Cultural Heritage, to produce new works and interact with school children, inspiring our audience and the coming generations with new perspectives on culture, art, history and identity. From June 2018 until June 2020 the four art institutions Kunsthal Aarhus (Denmark), MUCEM (France), POINT (Cyprus) and AIR Antwerpen (Belgium) are collaborating on this project co-funded by the Creative Europe Program ‘Year of Cultural Heritage’ of the European Union. Excavating Contemporary Archaeology is an initiatitive by Kunsthalle Aarhus.

In 2019 AIR Antwerpen organizes two residencies with artists Cristina Lucas (SP) (April - May 2019) and Amalie Smith (DK) (June 2019).
