Tamara Van San and Lode Geens will work in AIR during the summer of 2009. AIR Antwerpen is participating in their project that found his roots in the port of Antwerpen. In the beginning of the summer they embarked on a Grimaldi boat full of Belgian car-wrecks. These cars were on their way to Dakar, Senegal and Tamara and Lode were also on that boat. Once they arrived in Dakar they picked a boat and bought it to drive back to Belgium. During their trip back to Belgium they gathered tons of material. Pictures, videos, stories and found objects. This intersting mixture is the base of a Middelheim production that will be seen in the Zuiderpershuis in Antwerpen. The opening of this exhibition will be on 22nd of october.
