Alexis Lagimodière-Grisé

Jun 2016 to Sep 2016
1988 Winnipeg, lives and works in New York

Alexis Lagimodière-Grisé (°1988, Winnipeg, lives and works in New York) is invited for a residency of four months. During this periode Lagimodière-Grisé develops a new series of works.

In his practice Alexis Lagimodière-Grisé addresses questions of temporality and communication with the use of images and objects. His practice addresses the development, in a broad sense, of images as things accumulated and disseminated as a set of constant relational productions. The flow of images, the perception of time and the longevity of imaging are presented in his site-specific installations. Critically, Lagimodière-Grisé is concerned with finding openings that can allow for the duration of an image and an ambivalence towards its fixity and authenticity with the social relations in the context of the instititution.

Alexis Lagimodière-Grisé attended Hunter College's MFA program as well as the exchange mobility program at Cooper Union, he graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2014. Solo exhibitions include: TCIFY, Anna Leonowens Gallery, Halifax, 2014; Lumière Industrielles, La Maison des Artistes, Winnipeg (upcoming). His works were shown in the following group exhibitions (a selection): Hit and Run, Cooper Union School of Art, New York, 2013; KRIYA300, New York, 2015; Ideas and Process, Film Studio, Halifax, 2013; Language Into Art, The Khyber, 2012.
