Ksenija Jovišević

Apr 2018 to Jun 2018
1988 lives and works in Frankfurt am Main

In the framework of the annual collaboration between AIR Antwerpen and AIR_Frankfurt Ksenija Jovišević is selected for a residency of three months in Antwerp.

Ksenija Jovišević’s  practice is rooted in the traditional medium of painting and drawing and has developed further into photography, installation and video. Her work results from an attempt to confront the omnipresent existential questions emphasizing the amorphous and temporal harmonization of the perpetual possibilities of playing with answers and solutions, after which it transcends into new problems and questions. While using psychological aspects of existential philosophy, exposing different time positions, she explores various media to pursue her interests in infinity as a possibility and one’s basic desire for creating limits where none exist.

Ksenija Jovišević graduated at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade and studied a Städelschule Frankfurt. She was invited for the following solo exhibitions (a selection): Time in Between, Zecevic Gallery, Belgrade, 2014; Make a Wish, 3BDG, Belgrado, 2013. Her works were shown in the following group exhibitions (a selection): Boiler Room, Basis project space, Frankfurt, 2017; Young Visual Artist Award, Remont Gallery, Belgrade, 2017; Remembering in Form, Gallery Heike Strelow, Frankfurt, 2016; The Five Hours Show, SIM Residency, Reykjavik, 2016; RAW, Dornacherstr. 38, Basel, 2016; HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS - Es wird gemalt, was auf den Tisch kommt, Foundation BINZ 39, Zürich, 2014.
