Together with Belgian artist Stijn Van Dorpe, Tomáš Kajánek is invited for a residency of six months in the framework of the annual exchange between AIR Antwerpen and MeetFactory in Prague. The first three months of their residency takes place in AIR Antwerpen, the last three months in the MeetFactory, Prague.

Tomáš Kajánek works with photography, video and live action. Tomáš Kajánek usually uses performance and the possibility of its documentation. He treats his outputs as evidences of actions and uses thme to comment on social issues. He often deals with the question of agency, the capacity of the individual to act within rigid social structures. Tomáš Kajánek sometimes brings his own body into play in his work, thereby using it as a projection surface for opposing opinions.

Tomáš Kajánek studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
